The Resurrection Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is part of the social service arm of the Church. We strive to meet the needs of our neighbors facing financial or other problems. Our purpose is to carry out the words Jesus spoke in His Sermon on the Mount.
Membership is open to any man or woman who wishes to serve others in the name of Christ. It is an opportunity to use your time and talent for worthwhile work in your parish. We meet on the first and third Monday of every month.
The cornerstone of Vincentian service is the home visit. When a person or family asks for help by contacting the parish or our Conference, two Vincentians visit them in their home to determine how we can help. Each situation is unique and information is confidential.
We may be able to provide: emergency shelter, food, clothing, furniture or bedding. We may also help with bills: utilities, rent/mortgage payments, auto loans or repairs.
When a person or family needs longer-term support we suggest other social service agencies or government assistance. Our method of service is the model used by the Society of St Vincent de Paul throughout the world.
Our Resurrection Parish Conference is a unit of the Society of St Vincent de Paul Council of Pittsburgh. The Society was founded in 1833 in Paris by Frederic Ozanam and his friends to serve the newly urban poor.

Each member does as much as he or she is able. Every skill and talent may be of service to others.
