An opportunity to support parish and local groups who assist the poor and vulnerable
The Resurrection Parish Ladies of Charity collected donations for the Red Door Lunches for the Hungry program after all Masses this past weekend, March 8 & 9. These charitable contributions will provide the primary funding for the sandwich making portion of our parish program which occurs on the second Tuesday of the month in the Ave Maria Cafeteria. This will enable the group to purchase the ingredients to make 500 sandwiches for distribution through the Red Door to the underserved in our Pittsburgh community.
The Red Door ministry began during the Great Depression era and has greatly expanded over the years to support those in need. Currently, the Red Door serves two meals a day, six days a week, and “Sunday Supper” on Sunday afternoons.
Checks should be made payable to Ladies of Charity - Resurrection Parish. If you would like to donate electronically, please go to Red Door Donations or scan the QR code.
