More’s Men gather together to pray, study, and share fellowship about the upcoming Sunday Mass readings. We meet every Tuesday morning starting at 6:10am for our Tuesday Mornings with the Gospel. The purpose of this ministry is to discover and learn the teachings of God’s Word; to develop a personal relationship with Christ by living fulfilled through a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith, the sacraments and its traditions. If you are a man older than 18, please come join us!
Did you know that we have a wonderful group of ladies who provide childcare for moms and dads who adore in our adoration chapel? You do not need to be a scheduled adorer to use Adoration Child Care. You also do not need to sign up. Just show up. Oh Come Let Us Adore Him!
This beautiful liturgical prayer finds its source in the Eucharist and is truly both ancient and ever new. Please join us for Morning Prayer on Thursdays at 8:00 AM before the 8:30 AM mass at St. John Capistran Church. Easy to follow booklets are provided.
The group is comprised of members of Resurrection Parish. We sing a wide repertoire of music ranging from classical to newly composed sacred music. The choir sings a rotation between St. John Capistran (Sunday, 9:00 AM on the first and third Sundays) and St. Thomas More (Sunday, 9:30 AM on the second and fourth Sundays) along with special times throughout the year such as Christmas, Epiphany Concert, and Holy Week. Please join us on the First Friday of every month immediately after the 11:30 am Mass in the Lamb of God Chapel to pray the rosary and to pray a prayer of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The First Friday Devotions are a set of Catholic devotions to especially recognize the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and through it offer reparations for sins.
There will be a gathering after the 11:30am Mass at St. Thomas More Church on the first Friday of each month in the Breezeway between the church and the Family Life Center. Light refreshments will be served. Please stop by and take this opportunity to get to know one another. All are welcome.
Every Saturday in Lamb of God Chapel, a Holy Hour for Priests is prayed during the noon hour. This includes a Rosary for Priests - which could become a part of your First Saturday devotions. Then, you are welcome to stay for an extra 15 minutes in silent meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary in order to keep Our Lady company and complete the First Saturday Devotion sacrifice.

New members are always welcome to join the Ladies of Charity of Resurrection Parish. We meet on the second Monday of the month at 9:30 AM in Capistran Hall at St. John Capistran Church. We would love to have you join us! Come to a meeting or call Grace Monk (703-624-3985) or Michele Schnieders (412-973-2665) for more information, or RSVP to Resparloc@gmail.com.
Our group began in April 1999 and has met monthly since that date. We read a variety of books chosen from the suggestions members offer for consideration. One reward is that we find enjoyment in a book or author we had not previously thought of reading. We also discover that our impressions of a book or character can give insight to a view other than our own. Our purpose in meeting is to share a love of reading and to enjoy the fellowship of making new friends. It is not necessary to purchase books as we mostly borrow from the public libraries. Meetings are in the Family Life Center from 10am until noon on the second Monday of the month except for January. Members choose a month in which they provide light refreshments. Each month’s book selection is published in the bulletin and our website. Anyone can join us—just come and give us a try!
Volunteers meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30PM in the Rooney Room to discuss upcoming projects. If you or someone you know needs home repair assistance, contact us: Phone: (412) 833-0031 ext. 246 Email: HeartsWithHammers@resurrectionpgh.org
Cursillo is an international evangelical movement based on the premise Be a friend of Christ, make a friend, and bring that friend to Christ. Bishop Zubik has asked the Cursillo Movement to aid him with his Church Alive Movement as we follow the same premise. All members are welcome. Do not hesitate to inquire – come and see, lower your nets and be a fisher of men and women. Meetings are the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:30PM in the Rooney Room at St. Thomas More.
