• Christmas… is more than a day; it’s a whole season! During this time, we celebrate different aspects of the Christmas story. Today, we observe the feast of the Holy Family, and consider how the family of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus is a model for us in all of our relationships. The season of Christmas lasts until January 12th this year. So, consider keeping your home decorations up for the entire Christmas season! Most importantly, may the spirit of Christmas always remain with us. • New Year’s Day… IS a Holy Day of Obligation, as we celebrate Mary, the Mother of God in a special way on the “octave” day of Christmas. Consult the bulletin for Mass times. May 2025 be for each of us a year of peace, health, and happiness. May it be a time when we continue to grow in love for God and one another. • Pope Francis… has announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, something which happens every 25 years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope.” A Jubilee Year is a time to re-establish a proper relationship with God, with one another, and with all of Creation. Every Diocese takes part in the celebration, which begins with a special Mass at St. Paul Cathedral this weekend. Stay tuned for events related to the Jubilee throughout the coming year. • We’re grateful… to all who made our Christmas Masses so wonderful! Many thanks to our musicians for the glorious music. The church decorations are beautiful, thanks to all who gave of their time and talent. We’re grateful to our liturgical ministers for their faithful service at the liturgies, and to the many people who worshiped with us. • We’re also grateful… to parish staff members and parish organizations who worked so hard to make our Advent and Christmas events so meaningful. • Many thanks… to all who were so generous to your parish clergy at Christmastime. Your cards and gifts are truly appreciated. • All are invited… to the “Christmas Festival of Scripture and Song” that our Parish Music Ministry is presenting in St. John Capistran church this Friday evening, January 3 at 7:30 p.m. This annual event is a great way to continue to revel in the joy of the Christmas season. Mark your calendars!
