As a Church throughout the world this day, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Trinity, a communion of love of Father, Son and Spirit, three person, one God. We honor God as Father and Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier who is without beginning or end and who is the center of our hearts and our lives. These roles are united in one supreme relationship of love and community, a relationship that is eternal and always present from the beginning until the end of time. We are so blessed in this mystery of grace and salvation. We are baptized into this wonderful relationship of life, mercy and compassion. Each time we reverently make the sign of the cross, we celebrate this powerful and empowering mystery of faith. We do not need any rational explanation of this mystery for we experience it in faith as a Trinity of persons who share their very life with us. As we live out our faith each day, we reveal the Trinity alive within us.
We name this indwelling of the Trinity as Grace, God’s gift to us in every sacrament and in His word. This Grace empowers us to be as Saint Paul tell us, “Ambassadors for Christ.” Though we are not always successful and at times fall to the weakness of our sinfulness, we do strive each day to represent Christ on earth wherever we are. Loved by our Triune God, we seek to be vessels of love for all. We strive to bring the good news of salvation to all. We seek to help others find the life and the joy we have in being true disciples of our risen Lord.
Today, guided by the Holy Spirit, we renew our commitment to be dedicated followers of Jesus in all things. We renew our commitment to be a holy people pouring out our lives for the service of God, His Kingdom and our Sisters and Brothers throughout the world. We live the mystery of the Trinity by word and example. In this great and holy mystery, we make a difference in the world each and every day.
