They came to pay homage to the newborn King. These three wise kings came to see the salvation of the world in the person of this newborn King, Jesus the Lord. They traveled far, following the star, and did not rest until they had seen what they had come to see. It is this great Epiphany we celebrate today. These three wise and wonderful wanderers found their answer and the restlessness of their heart could now fall away. Saint Augustine wrote, “Our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.” We too seek that blessed rest, but are we focused on the voice and the light of Christ? We often focus on those voices who agree with our view or who tell us what we want to hear. Yet, as believers, the voice of Jesus is our voice, a voice that has always told us the truth, told us what we need to heat, and spoke to our hearts of the way to salvation. It is time for us to find our rest and our peace in Christ. He is our way, our truth and our life. He is the cure for our restlessness. He is the only one who can satisfy us fully. May we have a new Epiphany today. May we always follow the star of Jesus, listen to the voice of Jesus, and look to Him for the meaning of life and love. His star leads to eternal life. His star still shines when we speak with his voice and love with His sacred heart. Let us show Christ to all.
