The Protecting God’s Children (PGC) was introduced in 2003 and was required for all volunteers and employees. Recertification is now required every three years. If it has been more than three years since you completed the Protecting God’s Children Workshop, you will need to be recertified by taking the Protecting God’s Children Maltreatment 3.2 & Vulnerable Adults Combined. Go to
virtusonline.org, log in and complete the online class. You should have received an email from Virtus letting you know that you need this recertification. The email included detailed instructions on how to obtain this required clearance. The deadline to complete and turn in the PGC 3.2 is Wednesday, August 18, 2021. It this deadline is not met, your Diocesan Safe Environment file will be moved to inactive status and you will not be able to volunteer in any capacity until this is completed. If your email has changed in the last five years, please call Susie Levitt or Sarah Wildenhain at 412.833.0031 to update your new email address. You can then follow the above instructions. If do not have email, we can help you with the new certification. In addition, if you no longer volunteer or wish to, please let us know so you do not continue to receive emails and your file can be removed from active status until you choose to resume volunteering. Thank you for your cooperation and for doing all that you can to keep His most innocent and vulnerable safe.
